Latest coupon trip...

I'm pretty excited to report a successful trip I had last night. To some it may look silly because I got so few items and they're all fairly random at first glance. But don't be fooled, as a young, non-married woman I don't have anyone to cook for during the week since Boyfriend lives an hour and a half away. So...it would be silly for me to buy giant amounts of food at any time when I already have ten cans of Progresso waiting in the cabinet.

Since I'm trying to live a healthier lifestyle and drop some pounds, I was compelled to buy healthy stuff. But I also love chocolate and coffee more than any other food or drink, so it's hard for me to stay away.

The first stop was Walgreen's. I got two Milka bars. Someone recently told me how to make some rockin' special brownies with them! Maybe I'll post the recipe later. :)
Amount spent = .27. Amount saved = 2.00.

Second stop was Publix.
Amount spent = 4.43. Amount saved = 12.something.

*the coffee creamers are non-alcoholic for everyone worrying that I'm addicted to Bailey's right now. And they came out to be .50 a piece with this coupon. It printed as $1.00 off for me.

For the rest of the sweet deals please visit Iheartpublix. They do an awesome job and I always use their website when planning shopping trips. Hope this helps anyone who can use this stuff!!!!!

I Heart Eversave!

I know there are a lot of deal sites that have become very popular in the last 6 months, like Groupon, LivingSocial, YaySave and Mamapedia. But one that I discovered and I really enjoy is Eversave. It had a wide variety of deals, from clothes and jewlery to personalized calendars from Vistaprint.

Just today I took advantage of their newest deal. For $10 you get $20 worth of phone accessories! Now, I really needed this...well, I really have been WANTING this for a long time. I've been asking for a cell phone case for a while and I just haven't gone to look at one. So I checked to make sure that there was a case for the Droid and I got it! I'm so excited!

If you'd like to see what I'm talking about, head over to Eversave.com and get registered. Or just look around and see if you think it's worth it. I mean, it's totally free to sign up, so why not?!

You have 2 days before this save runs out, but there will be plenty more! Have fun!

Smoothie for Breakfast!

Hello. I'm back. (I always say that, but this time it's for real.) I think blogging may be a better use of my time than watching Psych nonstop. Although, I do love Shawn and Gus...

Anyway... I wanted you to know that I am going to review stuff. Yeah, I said it. I try a lot of different stuff, maybe because of coupons I have or random circumstances, but I want to share the good and the bad with YOU! So here is what I had for breakfast this morning:

I had the Mango Strawberry Pineapple, not the Triple Berry that is featured in the lovely picture.

These smoothies are totally easy to make. 1) Put smoothie contents from pouch into blender, 2) add 1 1/2 cups of milk, 3) blend. EASY. This makes two servings, but I drank them both in one of my huge Alabama football cups from the stadium. :) And I gotta say, that smoothie tasted better than most of the smoothies I would buy from a store. It was great! I can't wait to eat my Blueberry Pomegranate one. AND...I'm buying more because they're BOGO at Publix this week! With $1.25 off coupons to go with them! If anyone wants to print me off some of these, go ahead, be my best friend.

Please go try these smoothies. My brother, Russ, will love them. He's obsessed with smoothies and he needs to try these. Oh yeah, did I mention that smoothies are good for you???

Coupons!!!

So, personally, I use a lot of different blogs/websites for my couponing enjoyment. Some of those being...

Southern Savers
Clippin' with Carie

Totally Target
I Heart Publix
I Heart Saving Money

...along with coupons.com, redplum.com, and smartsource.com which all have wonderful coupons that most of these sites will eventually lead you to.

This weekend I had the biggest savings trip of my life!!! :) It was wonderful, and yes, I did buy things that I needed. Because that's what I always hear. "You're spending more money than you would need to." "You wouldn't buy that without a coupon." "I don't know what I'm talking about, but I want people to think I do." Haha...they don't actually say that last one, but it's what they're doing. :) "They" being that group of people who uses these excuses to keep from couponing.

To prove that I shop with a purpose, I am going to break down my recent Publix trip and show what I got and how much I saved.

What I got:

1 box of Capri Sun (for Raymond, he wanted it)

1 Clorox toilet bowl cleaner (I was all out!)

2 Green Giant valley fresh steamers

1 bag of Tyson boneless chicken tenderloins

1 Jose Ole breakfast burrito

2 Aunt Jemima's microwave breakfasts

2 Degree deodorants (for Raymond)

2 Mott's Medley juice

2 Hillshire Farms smoked sausage

2 Betty Crocker fruit snacks (gushers, fruit roll up and fruit by the foot combo box!)

2 bags of Seneca apple chips

2 Marie Callender's fresh steamers

2 Cole's garlic loaves

1 2.5 lb bag of Idaho potatoes

5 boxes of Mueller pasta

2 Bertolli pasta sauce

1 4-pack of Green Giant green beans

1 Febreeze set&fresh (Meadow and Rain-my apt smells so good!!!)

How much I saved (and how much I spent):

That would be a grand total of $24.11 spent and $65.86 NOT spent.

I love coupons.

You can find all these deals on Southernsavers.com. Here's a link for this particular week of Publix deals. It's not too late...you can go tonight or anytime tomorrow and still get these deals...if you live close to a Publix.

I'll keep you guys updated on more coupons and trips, but for now, take a look at this gorgeous African Violet growing on my porch!!! (and I've had it over a year, so I'm doing good!)

Want some SWAG???

What does SWAG even stand for? I have no idea, but if I had to guess I would say....Sweet White Alligator Goggles. Yeah...SWAG! And when I say "alligator goggles", I mean goggles that an alligator is wearing, not a person wearing goggles made out of an alligator! Why would a person do that??!

Apparently, swag is a verb in Australia. It means
to travel about carrying one's bundle of personal belongings. Thank you, Dictionary.com.

The reason I bring up SWAG is because the word Swag has been on my computer screen everyday for the last couple days. I've been using the search engine on swagbucks.com and have been earning some points!!! When you sign up with Swag Bucks you get a chance to earn points every time you search using their search engine. Sure, you don't win every time, but sometimes! And when you get enough points you can get free stuff...all for sitting on you butt and playing on the computer! AMAZING!!!

Click on the banner below to start earning points for yourself! When you get enough points to get something for free you should let me know. I like knowing when people get free stuff!

Search & Win

I'll be posting more sites and opportunities to win free stuff later on so keep your eyes open! Happy winning!...and being lazy!

Ode to PJHD

Peter Jovi Harvey Dent Clark.
It may seem like a long and obnoxious name to you, but it is with pride that my cat accepted the name given to her.

Peter = friend of Piper (Natalies's dog)
Jovi = Buddy's girlfriend (from ELF, and Lynne's dog is Buddy)
Harvey Dent = Two Face (just look at her face!)
Clark =family name
The first part of her life is a mystery to me. It was a mere year ago that she stumbled into my life. Let's reminisce...

Here's a pic of her right after I rescued her from the evil dungeon, also known as The Pound.
She was so tiny!

Nowadays, tiny, she is not. But she's not fat either. With a life mostly committed to sleeping and housing fleas, she isn't as fat as she could be. Playing fetch helps. So does wrestling.

Anyway, back then I was just missing my kitty back home and I thought it would be a nice gesture to get a new one who was in need a good home, because I had a good home.

I went with my seester, Natalie, to pick a nice kitty out of the lot.

And guess who ran up to the cage gate and started purring and pawing the door and stretching towards me??? You got it, PJHD. She was unaware of her name then, but she knew that I was her mom.

She has always loved getting right up in my face. She still does it today. I make these videos on facebook called WebKam and she is one of the stars, well the only other star besides me. :)

She's just like her mom though; she loves the spotlight!

She and I used to be much closer before a certain someone came into both of our lives.

Raymond.

I started spending more time with him than with her and she started to like him more than me! You would think that she would despise this man who had taker her mother's time and concentration away from her, but no. Just because he plays with her all the time and fills her bowl when it's empty and cradles her the way she likes...ugh.

I can't blame her. He is pretty cute.

We had some good bonding time today, so I think I may be winning the favorite parent game for now. It's not fair that Ray isn't even her dad and he wins most of the time.

I just want to make sure you all get to see one example of how stupid she is before I finish.
This is kitty stuck between the screen door and the glass door on the patio. When she had her front claws she would climb to the top, smushed between the glass and the screen. Now, with now claws, she just gets herself into tight places and tries to wriggle her way free.
That's my cat and I love her.

My cat is confused.

I would like to show the world why my cat is the best cat EVER.

This is as real as you can get. I didn't even do any editing to this clip. I should've shaved some empty seconds off the beginning and cut it off early at the end, but I wanted you guys to see that this video was not tampered with in any way. I can't imagine having a better cat. :)

Just so you know, my cat's name is Peter Jovi Harvey Dent Clark. SHE is a girl. HER name is Peter. When I took her to the vet for the first time I told them her name was Jovi, mostly so they wouldn't judge me. But hey, there are a lot of reverse names these days...like Ryan as a girl's name and Courtney as a guy's name. Weird, yes, but they should not be shunned. I mean, heck...my name is Kamryn. Maybe that's why I named the cat Peter. Because I knew it would make her stronger and it would help her find her identity in things other than the gender of her name. Like I always say: "It builds character."
